Over the last 9 years, Red Label, in one form or another, has been involved in running parties, such as the Smirnoff-nominated Best Irish Small Club of the Year, ‘Evolution’, produced soundtracks for short films & animation, organised European tours for our co-label Avenida, had a go at a DJ agency, ran a t-shirt company selling in Europe, Australia & USA, produced & directed short films & music videos, and jet-setted on the back of ‘business trips’ whilst generally having a very good time. This has meant that the label has not gained in momentum, as we’ve been quite spread with our time and resources, but now we’re spending more time on the music & the artists, that is going to change.

The first artist on our label was Men In Speedos, and has been with us since we started, generally bleeping and squeaking their way along the digital highways, and now that we’ve a couple of other guys on our plate, we feel the future is definitely RED.

We feel now we are ready to let the world hear the skills of our artists, and look to build up a reputation for a right old mish-mash of tunage & music-makers, throw some great parties, and work with the best of film-makers & music videos directors, from all over the world, but especially the flourishing talent from Belfast. We recently worked with Chewie Films, where they had shot a load of 8mm footage, and needed a track for it, and one of the ‘Eric Needs To Know’ tracks where he collaborated with the young guitarist 'Pre-Dunk', called ‘The Pre-Dunk Jam’, was what they selected as perfect for their short … so now we have our first music video! Thanks guys.

And we are now working with our sister company Seamless Productions, in a collaborative audio visual project, between two of our Red Label artists, and 6 of Belfast's finest animators/directors, producing 4 short films/music videos, soon to be on screens near you. This project is called 'Jukeboxes & Triggers'.

We have also begun working with another 13 of N.Ireland's up and coming directors on a concept album video for the soon-to-be-released Men In Speedos album 'At A Kalamazoo Near You'. This is likely to take some time to complete, but it will be a lot of fun getting there.
