Record labels are a funny old thing really; they can range in size from the work of one man to a cast of thousands, from bedrooms to warehouses and from singular rosters to those the length of your arm.  but they all do the same thing - create a platform for music.  In order to guide you through the veritable maze out there, Alternative Ulster will be focusing and profiling a new label each issue.  This month big beards, nigger basslines and a very influential trip to Amsterdam can only mean one thing ...

THE LEGEND JOHN PEEL LEAVES US A PHONE MESSAGE

We were all away on holiday, so we'd left the answer machine on. A friend went to check our messages for us, and when he heard John Peels message he had to phone us to let us know.  With a chesire cat grin Gawain walked around the rest of the French supermarket slightly unnerving people whilst considering what an amazing thing had just happened.  Thank you John.
